THE VINEYARD: Planted in 1945, our I Block is one of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc plantings in North America. Located within the historic To Kalon Vineyard, the vines in this five-acre parcel are head-trained and never irrigated, encouraging the roots to grow deep to draw moisture from the earth itself. The resulting grapes are small but offer concentrated flavors and the essence of To Kalon terroir.

THE VINTAGE: The 2023 vintage stands out as one of the finest in recent memory, marked by consistently mild weather, abundant sunshine, and one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade. This extended hang time allowed us to handpick the grapes over several passes at optimal ripeness, giving the fruit the chance to ripen slowly, build concentrated flavors, and retain a vibrant acidity. Harvested between August 31 and September 4, the old-vine Sauvignon Blanc expresses the year’s character with freshness, purity, and refined elegance. The wine was fermented and aged on lees for 10 months in French oak barrels.
